COOK DRIVES CHRISTINE MARIE TEAM
TO 20TH PLACE AT MEXICO CITY

MEXICO CITY, March 5, 2006 -- The NASCAR Busch Series kicked off its second venture into Mexico on Sunday, and also making its second trip south of the border was the Christine Marie Motorsports team, which is in its second year of operation.

Chris Cook, driver of the No. 56 l'Alsace A Paris Dodge, had his second consecutive solid showing at the Telcel-Motorola 200 on the famed Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez road course, finishing the 80-lap race in 20th position.

"I was very happy with the handling of the Mexico City Busch car," said Cook, who also co-owns the Shift Into Gear driving school. "The car reacted very well in every way, but it did not have excellent overall speed."

Cook worked his way through the field to as high as the top 10 from his starting spot of 24th, but settled into his finishing spot after getting tangled with John Andretti near the end.

"I really felt that after the start of the race, and the way the car was working, that we had a Top 10 finish on the way," Cook said.

The race in Mexico City served as the beginning of the 2006 season for the Christine Marie Motorsports Team. Owner Chris Evans expects to have Cook and the rest of the team compete at a handful of NASCAR events this season, some of which will be on the Nextel Cup circuit.

"Chris Evans and I are being very careful to be fully prepared for every race," Cook said. "We need to make strong runs and have good performances."
